Application of Plain Paper Turn Up Tape

The paper turn up tape can be divided into two categories: plain tape and adhesive tape.

Plain paper turn up tape, also known as plain reel turn up tape, is used in the continuous production of paper machines and for changing paper rolls. It is an indispensable auxiliary material in paper production lines, helping to improve production efficiency while ensuring the quality of the paper rolls and operational safety.

In the continuous papermaking process, the full width paper web is wound onto the parent roll. When the parent roll reaches a predetermined diameter, the paper turn up tape adheres to the drive side edge of the paper web. The roll change strip is drawn into the nip between the new take up roll and the take up cylinder, where the paper web is severed by the turn up tape and wound onto the new take up roll, completing the roll change process.

Through the paper turn up tape, it allows the entire roll change process to be fully automated according to preset conditions, eliminating the need for operators to perform high risk tasks such as blowing compressed air or manually feeding the material, thereby enhancing safety. The tape is suitable for the production of corrugating medium, linerboard, white cardboard, and cultural paper on high-speed paper machines.

Material: Made from high strength, recyclable fiber materials such as polyester and nylon. You can also choose our 100% virgin wood pulp paper turn up tape, which is biodegradable and can be reprocessed into pulp, making it more environmentally friendly and pollution free.

Features: Abrasion resistance, heat resistance, and tensile strength (tensile strength ≥ 430 lb)

Colours: White, Brown

Thickness: 0.9 mm to 1.25 mm. Thicker plain paper turn up tape exhibits more pronounced stress concentration and provides a cleaner cut, but may leave indentations on the surface of the paper roll. Thinner turn up tapes are more gentle and suitable for the production of high quality paper rolls. You can select the thickness based on your needs. Customisation is also available for special requirements.

Width: Approximately 18.6 mm. The width of the paper slitting tape must match the width of the slitting groove on your paper roll. Customisation is available for special requirements.
