Classification of Doctor Blade By Function

‍Doctor blade is commonly used mechanical devices in paper machines and can be categorized into two types: one is a doctor blade utilized for cleaning rollers (including anilox roller/press section, drying cylinder); the other is a functional doctor blade, such as Coating doctor blade, wrinkle doctor blade. When employed for cleaning guide rollers and used in conjunction with a spray system, blades serve as an effective tool for keeping fabrics clean since most surface contaminants on the machine are transferred from the fabric to the smooth rollers. Squeegees are frequently employed to eliminate these contaminants in order to prevent accumulation, recontamination, or fabric damage.

Despite its appearance as a simple set of paper machine equipment with a relatively small investment, the doctor blade plays a significant role. It ensures the cleanliness of paper machine rollers and fabrics (forming fabrics, press felts, drying fabrics, etc.), prolongs the cleaning cycle of the paper machine and the service life of the fabric, maintains the normal operation of the paper machine, and ensures the stability of paper quality, resulting in substantial benefits.
