Paper carrier rope is a commonly used rope in industries such as papermaking. It is a necessary tool for paper guiding equipment in paper mills. Its material is mainly polyester fiber or polypropylene fiber, both of which have high strength and wear resistance. According to different production processes, paper carrier rope can generally be divided into with and without carrier rope, with a diameter range of generally 8mm-20mm.
It is the connecting link between various sizes of rollers in different parts of the paper machine (such as sizing, coating, post-drying and winding sections). The function of the paper carrier rope is to pull the narrow paper web from one roller to the next until the end of the entire papermaking process. In the daily operation of the paper machine, the paper carrier rope runs constantly, whether in the paper guiding state or not. The contact between the paper guiding rope and the iron rope wheel will cause wear and tear, and a new paper guiding rope must be replaced over time.
When paper breakage occurs, it carries small pieces of paper and winds through the dryer cylinders, playing an extremely important role in stabilizing production. During long-term operation, the paper carrier rope continuously wears out. If it breaks during operation, it needs to be stopped and replaced, which takes more than thirty minutes.
Therefore, replacing the paper carrier rope during each shutdown is one of the maintenance tasks. Check the wear of the carrier rope and replace those with severe wear. During the inspection of the paper rope after replacement, it was found that the most severely worn part of the paper rope was at the joint. The joint is relatively thick and has high friction.
Sometimes there is severe wear at the joint, while there is lighter wear at other parts, and replacing the entire piece will waste the remaining paper rope. Only the connector part was replaced, and a few meters of carrier rope was used to replace the connector instead of replacing the entire paper rope. Sometimes, the paper carrier rope is replaced only once after the connector has been replaced two or three times. A paper guiding rope ranges from 45 to 65 meters, and the joint does not take more than four or five meters. There are 14 paper guiding ropes for size pressing, calendering, and winding, and half of them are replaced each time. The benefits of saving paper guiding ropes are also considerable.
