Do You Know The Application of Paper Carrier Rope?

The papercarrier rope is mainly used in the dryer section, size press section, calendering section, and winding section of the paper machine, responsible for guiding the paper head or paper edge to transfer across the area. The wet section (forming section and press section) generally does not require paper carrier rope (using pick up felt or paper guiding wheel).

The Use Position of the Paper Carrier Rope on a Paper Machine

1. End of Press Section → Inlet of Front Dryer Section

(1) Guide the wet paper edge from the last press to the first set of dryer cylinder.

(2) Double rope clamping with rope pulley and tensioning device.

2. Front Dryer Section (1st Dryer) Full Set Dryer

(1) Each set of dryer cylinders (5-8 cylinders per set) is equipped with a rope wheel on the operating side.

(2) Wrap the paper carrier rope around the side pulley of each dryer cylinder, and transfer the paper edge to each cylinder one by one.

3. Front Drying Outlet →Size Press

Guide the paper head through the size press roll or measuring rod to prevent hanging glue and paper breakage

4. Size Press Machine → 2nd Dryer section

After size pressing, the paper sheet is reintroduced for post drying, and multiple sets of cylinders are used for continuous paper feeding

5. Post Drying Outlet → Calender

Guide the paper into the soft or hard calendering roller group.

6. Calender Machine → Reel Machine

The last section leads the paper to the spool roll and cold cylinder

Structure and Working Principle of Paper Carrier rope

• Double rope clamping: Two parallel paper carrier ropes, with the paper edge clamped in the middle and taken away.

• Rope pulley/rope groove: A large-diameter rope pulley is installed on the side of the dryer, or a rope groove is installed on the surface of the cylinder.

• Active transmission: Dedicated motor+sprocket drive, only operates during paper feeding.

• Tensioning and correction: equipped with cylinder tensioning, guide wheel, and anti slip wheel device.

That is to say, the paper carrier rope is equivalent to the "conveyor belt" of the paper machine: starting from the end of press section, it runs through the front drying, size pressing, post drying, and calendering, until it reaches the paper winding machine, guiding the paper edge to cross the area throughout the entire process.
