The Role of Carrier Rope on Paper Machine
Carrier rope, also known as paper transfer rope, plays an important auxiliary role in paper machine operation, improves paper feeding efficiency, reduces manual operation risks, and is an important guarantee for the continuous operation of paper machine.
What is Carrier Rope
Carrier rope is made of high strength synthetic fiber and is usually used in the drying section, pressing section and other links of paper machine. It runs around multiple pulleys to form a closed loop. It is used to help the paper web to be smoothly transferred from one section to the next section after the paper web is formed, especially when the paper machine is started and the paper web is broken, reintroducing the paper web to the drying section and subsequent processes.
Workflow of Carrier Rope
During normal production of paper machine, paper web needs to continuously pass through multiple stages such as pressing and drying. Due to the complexity of each stage, it is difficult to achieve reliable transmission only by the tension of the paper itself, so carrier rope intervention is required.
When the paper web enters the drying section, the head of the paper web is inserted into the carrier rope. The carrier rope will run at the set speed, bring the paper web to the specified position, and the paper web will break away from the carrier rope and enter the next process. The carrier rope will continue to circulate and prepare for the next paper break.
Carrier Ropes are Commonly Used in Paper Machine Parts
The drying section is the most widely used part of the carrier rope. The water evaporation intensity of the paper web in the high temperature drying cylinder is low and it is easy to deviate or break. The carrier rope ensures that the paper web is stably attached to the surface of the drying cylinder and smoothly guided to the next device through continuous operation.
In the pressing section, the carrier rope will help the paper web pass through the high pressure area to prevent breakage due to insufficient tension. It can quickly complete the threading of the paper web and improve the start-up efficiency.
